Widney is the only Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approved sliding window supplier in South Africa. The company is QS 9000 and ISO TS 16949 accredited and is in the process of obtaining ISO 14001 and Ford Q1 certification.

Automotive

Widney manufactures cab sliders to meet all South African original equipment manufacturers’ safety standards. The company is also the largest supplier of after market cab sliders, which are distributed throughout South Africa by Shatterprufe. A variety of options are available, including single sliders, double sliders, and fully framed sliders.

In 2002, Widney secured a contract to supply Toyota HILUX fully framed sliders, and is now the world supplier of this product.

Bus

Widney produces a wide range of sliding and fixed products for the commuter and luxury bus, minibus, and heavy truck industry. These include the Juno, Ajax and Proteus ranges which are ideal where rubber fitted application is required.

The fully framed Venus window was launched recently. This product dispenses with the traditional rubber gasket, and clamps directly to the body, providing a flush fitting window which is aesthetically pleasing, easy to fit, and offers significantly improved sealing capabilities.

Rail

Widney’s rail product range includes all variations required by the rail industry in South Africa. Widney manufactures windows to the highest safety standards, using superior materials. A two-year warranty is offered on all Widney products. A 24 hour after-sales service is provided to customers.

Widney was awarded the tender to develop a low-cost plastic window for the South African Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC).

Fabrication

Widney’s fabrication department supports customers with specialised designs to meet their individual requirements. These products include aluminium lifter rails, fridge frames, and seat pedestals.
